Alameda County, the 7th most populated in California, wanted to optimize their StopWaste website which features information and services on vast number of topics from reducing energy costs, disposing of debris toxic materials, to creating a greener home.

A leader in the public works space, the StopWaste office building was the first renovation project in the nation to receive a LEED Platinum certification, the highest honor a green building can achieve. So it was no surprise that the agency agreed with our recommendation to design and build a site with the desktop, tablet and mobile device experience in mind.

Given the large volume of articles and content on the site and the extensive navigation, it was no easy task. Content had to be organized in a way that would allows three different user types to browse content or drill down for specific searches. We created a simple navigation that provides a unified experience across all devices.
