Remembering Summer 2011
Posted onThe weather is cooling down in San Francisco and we're quickly approaching rainy season. Tahoe already got its first snow and while we welcome the winter with open arms (several avid skiers and snowboarders leave work early on Fridays for a trip to the mountains throughout the winter), we are hanging on to the warm memories of summer.
This summer, some of us at Marker Seven took some time off to adventure. Some went far, and some stayed near; a luxury to those fortunate enough to live in this state and city. Without further ado, here are some people, places, and things brought to you by the people of Marker Seven Interactive.
Scott Abbot, Creative Director:
Grand Tetons
This fall my family took our second trip in a year to the Jackson Hole, WY, area. We have fallen in love with mountains, wildlife and history that literally surround you at every turn. This photo is of the Grand Tetons from the Snake River Overlook outside Jackson. I arrived in the dark at 5:45am to get my spot, then waited in sub-freezing temperatures for a 1.5 hours for the sun to come up. The amazing thing about this shot is that when we'd flown into Jackson, all the trees were green. Three days later when we came back from Yellowstone, the trees had changed to yellow. Pure magic.
Sheryl Crow:
Every year, my wife's company puts on a big concert at AT&T Park. This year the headliners were Sheryl Crow and Maroon 5. This was my favorite shot of the show because it really captured Crow's enthusiastic performance. The great thing about this concert is they don't care if you bring in your big lenses :)
Blue Angels:
Everyone who knows me will tell you the second weeend of October is my favorite weekend of the whole year because the Blue Angels come to town for Fleet Week. This year I was on a boat, literally right below the Navy F/18s as they pulled tight turns and produced some amazing condensation effects around the planes. Science geeks can read up on something called the Prandtl-Glauert Singularity to better understand why this occurs.
Gerald Quiambao, Producer:
Puppy
This summer, Gerald got a West Highland Terrier puppy.
Dana Mandolesi, Project Manager:
China
I took a 2 week vacation to China and took a river cruise down the Li River. Those mountains in the photo are the same ones on their one yuan bill!
Nicole Reber, Director of Digital Marketing:
Chicago
Nicole took a trip to the windy city!
John Clauss, CEO:
Tour de France
French Alps Tour de France – Stage 18 -- Galibier
Fishing trip on Snake River, Wyoming.
Taylor Feezor, Account Assistant:
Graduating:
I graduated from college, with my best friend Char, on a ranch in the hills of Atascadero.
